The 10th Annual Bobby Doyle Summer Classic 5 Mile Race will be held on Sunday August 13, 2017. Race begins at 9am.

Proceeds from the race will support the Bobby Doyle Scholarships and Youth Running Fund, which are devoted to enhancing and supporting high school and youth running in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
5 Mile Run: $25 before June 1; $30 from June 1 to Aug. 11; $35 on race day, Aug. 13.
High school students: $15 before June 1, $20 from June 1 to Aug. 11; $25 on race day, Aug. 13.
USATF-NE Team Discount: $5 off the $30 pre-entry fee for members of valid USATF-NE Teams registering between June 1st and August 11th. (Team individuals must also be valid members of USATF-NE.)
USATF-NE teams are encouraged to register in bulk by sending complete Team List and full payment by mail. Team Registration Lists may be emailed to: firstname.lastname@example.org . Registration will not be complete until full payment is received ($25. per team member)

Online or Mail-In Pre-Registration Deadline is FRIDAY AUGUST 11th.
On-site registration will be available on Race Day, Aug 13th for individuals who do not meet the online or mail-in deadline..
DEADLINE FOR TEAM REGISTRATION IS FRIDAY AUGUST 11th. Teams will not be able to register on Race Day.
Packet pick-up and race day registration begin at 7:30 am Sunday Aug. 13th at the Pier Middle School.
The course for the 2017 Bobby Doyle Summer Classic 5 Miler has changed. We are reverting back to the original USATF certified course that was used from 2008-2011. The consensus amongst runners is that the “old” course is better and faster. It is !!
Course - USATF certified course through scenic Narragansett RI with panoramic ocean view.
Medals - All finishers will receive a custom 2017 Bobby Doyle race medal.
Technical T-shirts - All registered runners will receive a technical T-shirt.
Race Raffle - Pre-drawn raffle for all PRE-REGISTERED runners. Gift cards/merchandise will be awarded at Registration prior to the race.
Post Race Refreshments - Refreshments will be available on the grounds of the Pier Middle School following the race.
Restrooms - Indoor restrooms and showers available, additional restroom facilities (port-a-johns) will be on-site.

Open - 1st $500, 2nd $300, 3rd $200, 4th $100, 5th-10th $50 gift cards.
Masters (40-49) - 1st $300, 2nd $200, 3rd $100, 4th-5th $50 gift cards.
Seniors (50-59) - 1st $200, 2nd $100, 3rd $50 gift card.
Veterans (60-69) - 1st $150, 2nd $50 gift card.
Grand Veterans (70+) 1st $100, 2nd $50 gift card.
COURSE RECORD BONUS Additional $150 to race winners (male & female) who break the existing course record. Men: Abiyot Endale 23:39 (2011). Women: Mary Cullen 26:14 (2008)
USATF NEW ENGLAND TEAM COMPETITION (male & female) - Scoring team members must be members of USATF.
Open - 1st $500, 2nd $300 (Scoring based on top five finishers per team).
Masters (40+) - 1st $300 (Scoring based on top three finishers per team)..
Seniors (50+) - 1st $200 (Scoring based on top three finishers per team)..
Veterans (60+) - 1st $150 (Scoring based on top three finishers per team).
SPECIAL HIGH SCHOOL AWARDS
- Individual "King" and "Queen" - The first high school male and female (2017 graduates are eligible) will receive a pair of running shoes from Rhode Runner Sports.
- Team Award - to the first high school team (male and female) - top 5 score, based on time.
- High School students and teams from all 50 states are eligible for awards.
